THE TOP 10 THINGS I LEARNED AT MISS AMERICA:

By: Jayme Dawicki, Miss Wisconsin 2002

1. You cannot prepare for the unknown. All a person can do is work to the fullest of their abilities and offer themselves, their knowledge, and gifts to the world.

2. Sometimes we're in the right place at the right time. If we find that we're in the wrong place at the wrong time, it's usually because there is something better for us elsewhere.

3. Entertainment is one thing. A true talent is a whole other ballgame. Some people can recognize this, others cannot.

4. We can't control other people. What we can control, is how we handle each situation that we're presented with. Why not be happy with what you've achieved and the process that's gotten you to where you are today!

5. The world is a big place and although we see a lot of sorrow, it's good to know that there sure are a lot of wonderful people out there representing our nation and each individual state.

6. Sleep is necessary. Food is necessary. Any questions?

7. There is nothing that can pick up a person better than sharing a great big laugh with a friend.

8. Leave no stone unturned. Don't look back with regret. Move forward with your head held high, proud of what you have accomplished, of who you are, and the amazing person you are becoming.

9. In our lifetime, there are certain events that mark milestones in our life. Hold on to those winning moments, cherish them, and allow them to enhance and further your dreams.

10. It's good to be home. :)
